Perservere

It is important to persist through both the easy times and the hard times. One thing that I pride myself on is my ability to be level headed in a variety of situations. It is important to keep focus even when things don't go as expected. This is because we are the pilots of our own lives.

I attended Los Angeles Film to start my journey toward all things audio. I wanted and want to help bring all kinds of creations to life using music, sound design, and voice-overs. I spent two years learning and crafting all the audio techniques my brain could possibly absorb and applied them every chance I could. It was a tough journey but only the beginning of where I wanted to go. This road took me through many different stages from internships at ADR Studios, to minor travel for engineering, to simple quick edits for people needing a hand. I had this passion burning inside to be the best I could be, but I needed to learn more. This road would take me to Full Sail University.

The experience at Full Sail was... intense. Having looked at the program, it was quite intimidating. Every month you have a new concept to absorb. There were weeks and months that I would come off of creating a composition due by Sunday night to have a lecture for a brand-new class Monday morning. I would often stay up late, after turning in projects the same night,  to look at the syllabus for the next class. This while also working a full-time job.

Having recently graduated from Full Sail University on October 1, 2021, it is a really odd experience. I went from turning in multiple projects by every Sunday for the last two years to not needing to meet a deadline. It feels surreal as if I was just handed the keys to a car for the first time.
In a similar way, many of us given this opportunity are not quite sure where to drive or if we have the skills to navigate correctly.

No road to success is meant to be easy. For every second a person is successful, there were handfuls of minutes, hours, days, and years of hard work. Your determination is what should drive you to success. Your resolve should be what keeps you steady. Your humbleness is what helps you continue to grow. You need to have that hunger for success. It should be so strong that you are willing to lose so that you can win. This is your life. Persevere.
